The PVS Charitable
Trust has a long history of serving the common interest of public
and the society with out regard to cast, creed, or religion
for a disease free nation of tomorrow.The Trust got registered
on the 21st day of May 2004 at the Sub Registrar Office Kozhide.The
trust served the poor and weaker sections of the Society for
the promotion of low cost medication and for the poor and weaker
sections of the society.The trust has received 80G Certificate
for the income tax reduction and also for FCRA(Foreign Currency
Regulation Act)Certificate.
Aims
and objectives of the Trust:
The trust
is established For the following objective,each of which is independent
of the other.
a)To Provide free or Subsidized health-care, to provide aid (monetary
or Otherwise)for meeting cost of medical treatment and medical
diagnosis.
b)To organize and conduct Campaigns for creating awareness in
good health,prevention of disease ,preventive health-care checkup
etc.
c)To set up, run, promote and give aid to educational institutions
imparting medical and Para-medical courses, to apply for and obtain
recognition and affiliation from state and central government
for such courses.
d)To organisize and conduct seminars and workshops in the field
of medical treatment,medical diagnosis,preventive care and other
areas.
e)To set up clinics and hospitals and give aid to institutions
in furtherance of the oabjectives of the trust.
f)To Give grand‘s donations and aid to other institutions
in furtherance of the objectives
of the trust.
g)To give scholarships and endowments to the needy students for
medical education and
research programs.

Nature of Works
The trust is keen to observe its objectives.The Trust generally
does work like.
1)Free medical camps for the welfare of weaker sessions
of the society.
2)Campaigns for the drug abusers, alcoholic addicts and sex workers
of the society.
3)School Social work.
a)Diabetic awareness programs among students.
b)Counseling Programs by professionally qualified counselors.
c)Conducts researches and surveys.
d)Arranging casework, Group work, and community organization Programs
etc.
4)Freemedical camp and distribution of grocery among adivasis
of Wayand District.
5)Diabetic awareness meetings and checkup for the general public.
6)AIDS control programs through campaigns and counseling.

The Trust served for aperiod of three and half years for the well
being of the poor People.Several programs for the last years include;

Diabetic
special Programs under PVS Charitable Trust
1)Diabetic Survey among school children
The Trust in association with the department of Diabetology PVS
Hospital Calicut conducted a survey among the school children
(8-12 Standards)of Calicut District.Kerala
The objectives of the survey were;
1)To identify the Prevalance of diabetes among children
especially among8-12standards.
2)To study the relation between lifeStyle and Diabetes Mellitus.
3)To study the relation between stress and Diabetes Mellitus.
4)To Study the relation between food habit and Diabetes Mellitus.
5)To Study Diabetes Mellitus in relation with Heredity.
Criteria of selection of samples
Calicut district was divided in to 80(Gramapanchayath-77,Muncipal
Corporations-1,Muncipalities-2)and 160 schools out of 309 were
selected,two from each division.From the160 schools 5 students(one
from each standard)were asked to respond to the questionnaire.The
data collected, recorded, analyzed and interpreted.
The
results of the survey
1)From the 800 participants 6.45% of the participants
were found to have Diabetes Millitus ions and its associated disorders
like over weight and hypertension.
2)78% of the affected students have no sort of exercises in their
lives.
3)58% of the affected students have stress related problems
4)92% of the affected students have the habit using fast food
and other bakery edibles.
5)Only 41% has affected (family history of diabetes).
Our prospective study has shown a rapid increase in the incidence
of diabetes in young children over the past decade.This increase
was largely confined to those aged under 12-19 years.

Suggestions
1)School wise prevention through awareness programs.
2)Early detection of Diabetes Mellitus through periodical checkup.
3)Appointing School Social workers for professional counseling.
4)Promotion of Physical education.
5)Renewal of curriculum giving importance to the overall development
of a child .
6)Yoga and Meditation are to be included in the curriculam.
7)Public awareness programs and periodical checkup.
8)Inclusion of Diabetes Mellitus and obesity prevention as a part
of school curriculum.
DIABETIC CAMPS:
The trust in association with the department of Diabetology PVS
Hospital Calicut, conducted 48 free diabetic awareness camps at
different schools and village.
WHO has declared India as the “World capital of Diabetes”in
2000A.D.the state wise statistical analysis from the available
data shows that kerala tops the list in the prevalence of diabetes
and coronary artery diaseases in India.
The courses offered under PVS Charitable trust are BSc.Nursing
Course by KNCP INC BSc.Optometry, BScMLT, BRIT, BHM, DPSM, MSc.Microbiology,
MSc.Biochemistry. These Course are affiliated to Allahabad Agricultural
Institute-Deemed University, Which is a central Government recognized
university.All these are 3year regular courses.
1)BSc.Opt-Bachelor of Clinical Optometry
The objective of the programme is to train and develop a primary
health care provider who examines,diagnoses and help in treatment
and management of diseases and disorders of the human visual system,the
eye and associated structures.Successful candidates will be able
to provide general eye and vision care.
2)BSc.MLT-Bachelor of Med.Laoratory Technology
This programme would be in keeping with the demands of health
sector.Successful candidates will be able to take up jobs in hospitals
and diagnostic centers.They will be capable of handing sophisiticated
diagnostic units.
3)BRIT-Bachelor of Med.Laboratory Technology
The objective of this programme is to make students familiar with
imaging teching,radio-diagnosis and radiotherapy.Imaging techniques
with computerized tomography(CT), ultra sound and magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI)are integral part of the syllabus.
4)BHM-
This programme aims at making hospital administrators to skillfully
manage the hospital personnel and infrastructure. Candidates will
also learn to Skillfully manage health information, they will
also be capable of managing Medical records department, Medical
Transcription and Health Insurance Co.
5)DPSM-Diploma In Pharma Sales Management
To impart deep knowledge and necessary skills required to pursue
a career in Pharmaceutical sales. Students will be acquainted
with medical terminology, Pharmacology and sales force management
etc
6)MSc.Biochemistry
The programme aims at imparting high level training on biochemistry
of the living cell,enzymology, Immunology, Glycology, Lipids and
membrances.Students Will also learn Metabolism and metabolic regulation.
7)MSc.Microbiology
This Programme offers high level training in the isolation and
identification of bacterial and fungal agents causing disease
in human beings with good exposure to the diagnostic methods for
viral and parasite agents.
